This massive herbivore is one of the few monsters that can take down a karvite. These gigantic equines are tough enough to survive on the sparse fodder of the taiga, able to eat the meager undergrowth of the forest floor, lichens, and even pine needles. Their horns and three-toed hooves are formidable weapons, and even a karvite will not hunt an adult varkell unless they are very hungry. Varkell are loosely social, often found in small groups but just as likely to be alone. Either way, the experienced beast-hunter knows to be on their guard around these short-tempered creatures, or worse, one that has become bonded.
